WEDDINGS

My Approach

Documentary Wedding Photography

During your wedding I like to work as a silent observer. I am constantly photographing the goings on around me and intervene very little during the day. The majority of wedding photography has come to be known as reportage wedding photography or wedding photojournalism. The terms are relatively new, but the principles are simply to achieve a natural and evocative record by which to remember the wedding.

Natural Portraiture

Portraiture is historically the principle purpose of wedding photography. Throughout the wedding I will be taking candid portraits of all the wedding party. These portraits usually constitute a fairly significant part of the overall collection of images. This is because one of my aims is to capture lovely natural photographs of yourselves, your family and your friends.

Traditional Photographs

Group photographs of family members and friends, as well as photographs or the bride and bridegroom are a traditional component of wedding photography and can be a lovely and valuable record for the future. I do however think that it’s important not to let group photographs take over the wedding.
